Non Technical (Again)
Fook me - we get to new levels of ridiculousness (sic)
him: How much space to we need to backup this data-base.?
me: about 250GB
him: wow that's a lot...considering they're only 32GB disks, but what do I know - "I'm not technical"
me : well - we have 10 of them !!
Is it not technical not to be able to do 10x32= ? or am I just being picky ?

Security People
I will be coming back to this ! I know.
Security People can be dicks (I'm talking IT here, not Police etc..)
Hi - Can I come into my house please ? ?
No - your security team asked for ultra high security - you'll have to talk to the homeowner.
I am the home owner.. Not my problem, your security team asked for ultra high security.
OK - so now - the only way I'm getting into this house (for house - read your vital IT system) is to break one of the windows with this crow bar - which if anyone spots me doing is going to put me in the nick..
People in security - please be careful what you ask for.. Also - please don't assume that making sysadmin's jobs harder makes your systems more secure, it means sysadmins write down the passwords on bits of paper !

Surfing the "Bleeding edge"
Who's bloody idea was it to go with the latest and greatest code anyway....
Now I have a daily struggle with the PM...
Me: "yes I know I said it would be done this week, but unfortunately yet another bug in the vendor code has led to more problems and another call to upgrade to the latest release."
PM: "Can you put that in terms I might understand ? I'm not technical !"
The bloody not technical excuse.. means my job just became baby sitting a PM not solving an actual problem...
You are working for a large technology provider - you better gen up and get a bit of a technical background - or - do us all a favour and fuck off and get a job in Maccy D's !
